Taken inspiration from the psalmist in the Holy Bible and from a photo of my father, Francisco Catanghal taken in September 2009. This was in our flooded home(Typhoon Ondoy) and there was no electricity, yet nothing can keep my father from devoting himself in God’s Living Word, the Light of our lives.

Background: Taken inspiration from James 1:27 of the Holy Bible and from a tribal mission photo taken in March 2015.

Description: The message of the text reference and this painting is that we are taught on the outward form of worship to provide active care to those who are helpless, oppressed, in distress or great need; while inwardly we are expected to live holy lives through our thoughts, our word and action. This is the acceptable worship our Father in heaven is looking for.

This humble work of art is dedicated to my co-laborers in the vineyard of the Lord. Let us press on towards the goal that Christ have set for us.
